Hello! My name is Charles and I’m an American from North Carolina living abroad in Thailand.

I hold a bachelor’s degree and am TEFL certified. I’ve taught English for 3+ years online with various companies, including TutorABC, VIP Kid, and others. I have taught a variety of students from adults to teenagers to young children. I’ve taught students from China, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, even Brazil. I also have 2 years experience of in-person tutoring for young students in both Math and English.

I believe in creating a comfortable and positive atmosphere in the classroom. I understand the stress and worries of learning new languages and of the importance of patience. I like to put my students at ease, reduce stress, and instead encourage more focus on all important aspects of learning English. By doing this, a student’s confidence further develops, and with that, their skill and ability to read and speak clearly.

I help students primarily with reading, pronunciation, intonation and basic grammar. We will specifically target these elements since they are the core of developing a strong confidence when speaking English. We’ll work hard, but we’ll also have fun! Learning English can be challenging but it doesn't have to be boring. I love to have my students be themselves, interact with each other and myself, answer questions, ask questions, tell stories, and just generally be more involved with each lesson.
